- Michigan and Ohio managers put Lake Erie’s age-2-and-older walleye near 57 million this year, with catch rates still above the 1980s golden age, while yellow perch harvest is cut 20–40% by basin.
- Michigan DNR’s Sept. 14 Northeast report: a few walleye and Chinook out of Alpena, very good lake trout 80–120 feet at Rockport, and salmon staging off Swan Bay in low, inconsistent numbers.
- Michigan’s Natural Resources Commission enacted Fisheries Orders 254 and 205 on Sept. 9, effective Sept. 10 — clarifying inland-lake trout and salmon possession and aligning Menominee River lake sturgeon rules with Wisconsin.
