Yak-A-Bass Clear Lake Type A permit locked for Sept. 18–20

California’s top bass lake fills another September weekend. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing-contests board lists an approved Type A black bass permit for Yak-A-Bass on Clear Lake (Lake County) from Sept. 18 through Sept. 20, 2026 — a three-day event under the Section 230 contest rules.

Type A permits cover black bass contests with more than 60 anglers; CDFW allows only one Type A permit per water per day and caps those events at three days. The same weekend already has Bass Angler Inc.’s BAM Don Pedro Pro-Am on Lake Don Pedro (also Type A, Sept. 18–20), so NorCal tournament traffic splits between Clear Lake and the foothills.

Recreational anglers on Clear Lake that weekend should expect heavier boat traffic and practice usual courtesy around weigh-in and blast-off corridors. Always confirm current black bass bag and size rules for the water before keeping fish.
