Shasta Cascade Bass Anglers lock a Type A Shasta weekend Oct. 24–25
Shasta Lake picks up a late-October Type A weekend. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing-contests board lists an approved two-day Type A black bass permit for Shasta Cascade Bass Anglers on Shasta Lake Oct. 24–25, 2026.
Type A is the big-field black bass class — more than 60 anglers, one Type A per water per day. That Saturday also carries American Bass’s one-day Type A at Clear Lake, so NorCal tournament pressure splits between the Sacramento River arm and Lake County.
Recreational anglers on Shasta that weekend should watch for extra boats around popular launch corridors. Confirm current black bass bag and size rules before keeping fish, and check the sponsor for registration.
