Red Bluff Bass Anglers lock a Type B Shasta day Sept. 20

California Fishing

Shasta Lake gets a one-day Type B club card in late September. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing-contests board lists an approved Type B black bass permit for Red Bluff Bass Anglers on Shasta Lake on Sept. 20, 2026.

Type B is the smaller black bass class — 60 or fewer anglers, three days max, three permits per water per day. That Sunday is the last day of Yak-A-Bass’s three-day Type A at Clear Lake and Bass Angler Inc.’s BAM Don Pedro Pro-Am, so NorCal tournament pressure that weekend is already split south and west of the Sacramento River arm.

Recreational anglers on Shasta that Sunday should watch for extra club boats around popular launches. Confirm current black bass bag and size rules before keeping fish, and check the sponsor for registration.
