Oregon commercial troll coho landing limit cut to 50 starting Sept. 10

Oregon’s south-of-Cape-Falcon commercial troll fleet gets a tighter weekly coho cap this week. A Sept. 8 NMFS/state action notice on ODFW’s ocean salmon page cuts the Cape Falcon–Humbug Mountain landing limit to 50 coho per vessel per week (Thursday–Wednesday), effective 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026.

Managers say roughly half of the 7,000-coho quota is still on the table. The lower weekly number is meant to keep boats in the fishery without blowing through what’s left. The weekly Chinook landing limit stays 100 per vessel.

Skippers who still have fish from the current week are told to deliver before the new landing week starts Sept. 10 so they are not over the revised coho possession limit and can start a clean week. Oregon quota landings still need the one-hour pre-landing call or email to ODFW listed on that notice.
