Clear Lake Catfish Bash locked for Sept. 12

California Fishing

Catfish boats get Clear Lake for a one-day CDFW contest the same Saturday the bass trail is in town. The Department’s approved fishing-contest list shows Catfish Bash with a Type D catfish permit on Clear Lake (Lake County) on Sept. 12, 2026 — one day, approved.

Type D is the contest class for events that are not targeting black bass, per CDFW’s notes on that board. Bob’s Marine holds a Type A bass permit on the same water Sept. 12–13, so Saturday is a two-event day: catfish weigh-ins and a bass field sharing ramps and main-lake traffic.

CDFW also lists another Catfish Bash date on Clear Lake for Nov. 21, 2026. That is a later card, not this weekend’s story. Confirm current catfish bag and size rules before you keep fish.
