CDFW trout trucks hit Eastern Sierra and Sierra waters this week

California’s hatchery trucks are on the September loop. The CDFW Fish Planting Schedule (mirrored for anglers at StockedCA) lists catchable trout plants for the week of Sept. 6–12, 2026 at about a dozen waters, with a heavy Eastern Sierra tilt: Kings River below Pine Flat Dam (Fresno), Bishop Creek Lower and Lone Pine Creek (Inyo), Owens River below Tinnemaha plus Owens sections 2 and 3, Lee Vining Creek and the Saddlebag/Ellery reach, Mary Lake, West Walker River sections 2 and 3 (Mono), and Jackson Meadows Reservoir (Sierra).
CDFW updates the schedule in real time and warns that plants move with road, water, weather, and operational conditions. Exact drop days are not published on purpose, so the “week of” window is the signal — not a dockside appointment.
Looking ahead, the week of Sept. 13–19 thins out to Kern River sections 5 and 6 plus Convict and Rock Creek, then late September picks up Bishop/Owens again plus Fuller Lake and Halsey Forebay. Check the official plant search before you burn a tank of gas.
