Bob’s Marine Type A bass tournament hits Clear Lake Sept. 12–13

California Fishing

Clear Lake’s next Type A bass weekend is earlier than the Yak-A-Bass dates already on this desk. CDFW’s approved fishing-contest list shows Bob’s Marine with a two-day Type A black bass permit on Clear Lake (Lake County) Sept. 12–13, 2026.

The organizer’s tournament page calls it amateur anglers only — no pro anglers or guides — at Lakeport, hosted at Konocti Vista Resort. Friday, Sept. 11 sign-ups run 4:00–6:00 p.m. with a meeting at 6:15 p.m. at Konocti Vista Marina. Saturday night has a raffle. Adult/Child and Boy/Girl categories are listed. A quagga/zebra mussel inspection sticker is required before launch. Entry materials live on the Bob’s Marine site; phone (209) 551-2165.

Type A covers black bass contests with more than 60 anglers. CDFW allows only one Type A permit per water per day and caps those events at three days. Catfish Bash also has a one-day permit on Clear Lake Sept. 12, so expect extra traffic that Saturday — bass and catfish boats sharing the same lake.
