American Bass locks a three-day Type A at Shasta Lake Sept. 25–27
Shasta Lake joins Clear Lake on American Bass’s late-September Type A slate. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing-contests board lists an approved three-day Type A black bass permit for American Bass on Shasta Lake Sept. 25–27, 2026.
Type A permits cover black bass contests with more than 60 anglers; CDFW allows only one Type A permit per water per day and caps those events at three days. The same organizer already holds a three-day Type A on Clear Lake that same weekend, so NorCal tournament traffic will be split across two big reservoirs.
Recreational boaters on Shasta that weekend should expect heavier traffic near popular blast-off and weigh-in areas. Confirm current black bass regulations for Shasta before keeping fish, and check American Bass directly for entry details.
