American Bass books Diamond Valley Lake for a Type A weekend Sept. 12–13

Southern California gets its own Type A black bass weekend the same mid-September stretch. CDFW’s approved fishing-contest list shows American Bass with a two-day Type A black bass permit on Diamond Valley Lake for Sept. 12–13, 2026.

Diamond Valley is a hard-to-get SoCal tournament water, and Type A means a field larger than 60 anglers under CDFW’s contest rules. That puts a full weekend of weigh-in traffic on the lake while Northern California’s Clear Lake and Delta cards are also running.

American Bass also shows later Type A dates on the same board (including Clear Lake Sept. 25–27 and Shasta Sept. 25–27). This brief is about the Diamond Valley Sept. 12–13 permit only — check CDFW’s live contest list and lake access rules before you trail the boat.
