American Bass locks a Type A Clear Lake day Oct. 24

California Fishing

American Bass is back on Clear Lake after its late-September three-day card. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing-contests board lists an approved one-day Type A black bass permit for American Bass on Clear Lake (Lake County) on Oct. 24, 2026.

This is not the Sept. 25–27 Type A already on the desk. Type A still means more than 60 anglers, one Type A per water per day, three days max — and this October date is a single Saturday after BANC’s Oct. 17–18 Type A weekend.

The same Saturday, Shasta Cascade Bass Anglers hold an approved Type A on Shasta Lake, so trail traffic that weekend splits north. Confirm current Clear Lake black bass rules before keeping fish, and contact American Bass for entry.
